Job Title: MySQL Database Administrator

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and performance of MySQL databases within our organization.

  • Database Management:
    • Install, configure, and maintain MySQL database servers, including upgrades, patching, and provisioning of instances.
    • Ensure security, availability, replication, and efficiency of data storage and retrieval.
  • Performance Tuning:
    • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize SQL queries, database structures, and server configurations for efficiency and speed.
  • Backup and Recovery:
    • Implement and manage robust backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and minimize data loss in case of system failures or disasters.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Enforce database security measures, manage user access and permissions, and ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations.
  • Troubleshooting and Support:
    • Diagnose and resolve database-related issues promptly, provide on-call support for critical production issues, and implement preventive measures.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with development teams to design database schemas, optimize application interactions with the database, and support new feature implementations.
  • High Availability and Disaster Recovery:
    • Implement and maintain high-availability solutions (e.g., replication, clustering) and disaster recovery strategies to ensure continuous database operation.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Automation:
    • Automate routine database tasks using scripting and tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
