Checker Job Description

This role is critical to ensuring accuracy, completeness, and quality of fabrication and erection drawings as well as 3D models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed checks of shop and erection drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design intent
  • Review 3D models to verify correct geometry, connections, and part placement
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, e.g., AISC, CISC

Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring all work adheres to Quality Management System (QMS) standards, assisting in reviewing and providing feedback to improve QMS procedures and documentation, identifying and documenting errors, omissions, and discrepancies, and communicating corrections clearly to the detailing and modeling team.

Other Key Duties Include:

  • Writing and issuing Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify design issues or resolve conflicts in contract documents
  • Coordinating with project managers, detailers, and modelers to resolve complex technical issues
  • Tracking and verifying incorporation of redlines and revisions

As a Checker, you play a vital role in delivering high-quality results and contributing to the continuous improvement of checking procedures.
