Monitoring Analyst Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of IT infrastructure and hands-on experience with monitoring tools and ticketing systems. Key responsibilities include performing real-time monitoring of servers, network devices, applications, jobs, and services using monitoring tools, identifying, acknowledging, and logging alerts, events, and anomalies, and escalating incidents to L1/L2 support teams based on defined SOPs and severity.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform real-time monitoring of servers, network devices, applications, jobs, and services using monitoring tools.
  2. Identify, acknowledge, and log alerts, events, and anomalies.
  3. Elevate incidents to L1/L2 support teams according to defined SOPs and severity.
  4. Perform health checks and validations as per runbooks.
  5. Track and update incident tickets in ITSM tools.
  6. Initiate initial triage of alerts (e.g., service restarts, disk clean-up commands if permitted).
  7. Document incidents, actions taken, and resolution/escalation steps.
  8. Communicate with on-call engineers and shift leads for follow-up or escalations.
  9. Ensure monitoring dashboards and tools are operational and report any issues.
  10. Provide shift-wise handover updates and contribute to incident reviews.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to follow SOPs, and strong attention to detail. A sense of urgency is also essential. The ideal candidate will have exposure to ITIL processes and certification in basic IT/networking (CompTIA A+, ITIL foundation, CCNA). Three years of experience in IT monitoring or helpdesk roles with mandate skills like monitoring tools & network operation center is required.
