Job Description

We seek a talented Scientific Visualizer to join our team. This role combines scientific expertise with creative design skills to produce accurate and visually engaging materials.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop compelling graphical representations of complex scientific data, conveying key findings in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
  • Analyze and interpret scientific manuscripts to extract essential visual elements and concepts, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Create detailed storyboards outlining the visual narrative, aligning with scientific content and client objectives.
  • Generate initial design concepts through rough sketches, collaborating closely with researchers, writers, and clients to refine and finalize the visual representation.
  • Evaluate peer and freelancer outputs to ensure they meet client expectations and are delivery-ready.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM field (Biology, Biotechnology, Medicine, Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering).
  • At least 3 years of experience in scientific visualization, science communication, and complex research translation.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Familiarity with Blender for creating 3D designs is an asset.
  • Portfolio showcasing expertise in scientific graphic design, medical illustrations, journal cover designs, and graphical abstracts.
  • Strong understanding of the scientific publishing landscape and science communication principles.
