Financial Management Specialist: Overview of the Role

The position of Financial Management Specialist is a key part of our Finance & Accounting Team, providing an opportunity to work in a truly global environment. The primary goal of this role is to oversee the general ledger function by managing a company's financial records, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports. Reporting to the Head of Finance Operations, this position offers long-term development potential for someone eager to demonstrate their skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record financial transactions, including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Reconcile accounts, including fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accounts payable, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
  • Prepare journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Generate financial reports, including income and cash flow statements, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Assist with audits and tax preparation, ensuring seamless collaboration with external partners.
  • Support other departments with accounting issues, fostering a culture of transparency and cooperation.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Masters or bachelors degree in a related field from a well-recognized institution along with 4-6 years of experience, possessing strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and in a team, knowledge of accounting standards and regulations, and excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis and visualization.
  • Experience in Preparation of Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Problem-Solving & analytical Skills.
  • Knowledge of low/no code applications, enabling efficient workflow management.
  • Participation in continuous improvement projects within shared services is desirable.
  • Understanding of the impact of collections processes on downstream and upstream processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
