Technical Support Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Java Application Support Specialist to provide proactive technical support and maintenance for business-critical Java-based applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of application support practices, Java/J2EE technologies, debugging techniques, incident management processes, as well as experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, Appdynamics, and Datadog.

  • Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for Java-based microservices applications.
  • Monitor and optimize application performance using Splunk, Datadog, and AppDynamics.
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java microservices.
  • Analyze system metrics and create informative monitoring dashboards.
  • Participate in 24x7 support rotation for critical applications.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance system efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of strong experience in Java Applications Support.
  • In-depth knowledge of Java Exception handling and troubleshooting techniques, including Null Pointer Exceptions, SQL Exceptions, and Out of Memory exceptions.
  • Understanding of Heap Dump analysis and its significance in resolving application issues.
  • Experience in debugging API performance issues using APM tools.
  • Familiarity with Splunk querying and searching errors or specific strings in application logs.
  • Proficiency in AWS services, including S3 buckets, Lambda functions, and Auto-scaling.
  • Incident management process knowledge, including standard operating procedures for high-severity incidents (P1/P2).
