This role involves leading the design strategy and user experience of a platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and validating wireframes, prototypes, and design systems that bring simplicity, trust, and impact to digital experiences.
The designer will conduct user research, usability testing, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver intuitive, accessible, and delightful interfaces that drive adoption, retention, and empowerment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement design strategies and quarterly UX roadmaps aligned to business goals.
- Translate product requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma and Miro.
- Maintain design systems, UI patterns, and style guides for visual and functional consistency.
- Partner with product owners to convert epics and user stories into design deliverables.
- Conduct end-to-end user research: interviews, field visits, surveys, and usability testing.
- Translate feedback into actionable design improvements.
- Champion UX for rural contexts: vernacular flows, low-bandwidth/offline-first design, accessibility, and culturally relevant trust cues.
- Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure pixel-perfect handoff and smooth implementation.
- Run design experiments (A/B testing, prototypes) and analyze outcomes to optimize key funnels.
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and data privacy guidelines in all user interfaces.
- Prepare demos, storyboards, and training material for cross-functional launches.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, competitor interfaces, and evolving UX best practices.
Requirements:
- 5–8 years in UI/UX design, with at least 3 years designing for mobile-first products at scale.
- Proven experience shipping rural customer-facing or mass-market apps with measurable adoption and engagement impact.
- Hands-on experience conducting field research and usability testing with diverse user groups.
- Expertise in Figma / Adobe XD, and prototyping tools.
- Strong command of information architecture, interaction design, and visual hierarchy.
- User research, usability testing, A/B testing, and iterative design practices.
- Familiarity with design for low-bandwidth, multilingual, and offline-first contexts.
- Ability to create design systems and scalable UI libraries.
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and awareness of front-end engineering constraints.
- Clear communicator; bridges gaps between design, product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
