Senior Software Architect

About the Role

We're seeking a talented Senior Software Architect to join our team. As a key member of our engineering organization, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems that meet the needs of our business.

Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the technical direction of our platform and ensuring its scalability, reliability, and performance. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to define strategic roadmaps and drive innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable architecture for our payment platform
  • Collaborate with management and stakeholders to define technical strategies
  • Build new services using Golang and Java
  • Develop modern cloud technology and industry best practices to solve novel problems
  • Articulate a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling our backend systems
  • Work with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn product and technical visions into tangible roadmaps
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs
  • Debug difficult technical problems and make systems work better and easier to deploy, own, operate, and diagnose
  • Review feature designs within your product area and across the company for cross-cutting projects
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering
  • 4+ years of experience in architecting large-scale distributed systems
  • Designed, built, scaled, and maintained production services and composed service-oriented architectures
  • Written high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs
  • Been passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together
  • Possessed strong technical skills for system design and coding
  • Had excellent written and verbal communication skills and a bias toward open, transparent cultural practices
Nice to Have
  • Experience with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks
  • Experience with Blockchain technology (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.)
  • Worked with Golang, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB
