About IIT Bombay:

The Motilal Oswal Centre for Capital Markets (MOCCM) aims to foster education, research, training, and innovation in financial markets, fintech, quantitative finance, and investment management.

Job Purpose

  • The Program Director will lead strategic, academic, and operational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:
  1. Formulate and execute long-term vision and strategy.
  2. Develop programs aligned with the mandate in financial markets research and education.
  • Education and Research Program Management:
  1. Provide support for research projects and publications.
  2. Support faculty-led research, student engagement, and visiting scholar initiatives.
  3. Organize training programs, workshops, seminars, conferences, and certificate courses.
  • Industry and Stakeholder Engagement:
  1. Build partnerships with financial institutions, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and organizations.
  2. Organize events featuring industry experts.
  • Operational Oversight:
  1. Manage day-to-day administration including budgeting and resource planning.
  2. Supervise staff, interns, and research associates.
  • Communication and Outreach:
  1. Oversee visibility through publications, newsletters, and website updates.
  2. Represent at conferences, academic forums, and industry meetings.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Masters or Ph.D. degree in Finance, Economics, Management, or related discipline.
  • At least 15 years of experience in academic and/or research institutions, regulatory bodies, financial services companies, industry associations, or relevant organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage academic and research programs.
  • Good understanding of financial markets, fintech, or quantitative finance desirable.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience with academic institutions or research centers.
  • Strong professional network in finance or policy domains.
  • Familiarity with grant writing, fundraising, and donor engagement.
