Interior Design Team Lead

Job Description:

Our organization seeks an experienced professional to lead the interior design team in the Rajkot region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in interior fit-out business and experience managing revenue-generating teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving compliance with organizational SOPs, managing risks and non-compliance, maintaining audit readiness, and coordinating with stakeholders and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • City Governance & SOP Adherence: Drive compliance with organizational SOPs across on-ground teams, including design, execution, vendor, and experience functions.
    • Conduct routine governance checks to ensure adherence to process frameworks.
    • Identify and close operational control gaps impacting service quality, timelines, or cost.
  • Risk & Non-Compliance Management: Monitor and resolve governance risks, including financial, operational, or service quality issues.
    • Proactively address non-compliance or deviations related to internal stakeholders, such as design teams, project managers, supply chain teams, operations teams, and flag repeated incidents.
  • Audit Readiness & Documentation: Maintain all project, partner, and compliance documentation in audit-ready format, lead monthly/quarterly internal audits, and track governance metrics through structured dashboards.
  • Stakeholder & Partner Coordination: Liaise with city ops, design teams, and PMs to reinforce a governance-first mindset, work directly with partners to ensure clarity on compliance expectations, and conduct workshops to educate stakeholders on new or revised SOPs.
  • Reporting & Escalation Management: Prepare city-level compliance reports and governance scorecards, escalate recurring non-compliances or systemic partner issues, and present RCA and recommend preventive measures.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent degree in Design or comparable degree. MBA would be an added advantage.
  • Typically spent at least 6 to 7 years in an interior fit-out business, operating role managing a revenue-generating team(s) or selling design products/services through a bunch of designers.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills, structured thought process, analytical ability, leadership and people management skills, personal and professional drive, deep understanding of interior fit-out industry, processes, market trends, and customer empathy.
  • Strong leadership: Hire, retain, motivate, and look after a diverse team of BMs, TAMs, IDs, LPs etc., tracking and training, and being a trustworthy, knowledgeable partner.
