Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Vessel Operations Manager to oversee the technical operations of our fleet.

  • Main Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure vessel seaworthiness through regular inspections and maintenance planning.

  2. Analyse vessel performance reports, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.

  3. Monitor compliance with all regulations, including PMS standards, and propose improvements to systems and databases.

  4. Prepare annual budgets for operating expenses and control costs effectively.

  5. Maintain validity of certifications and documentation, liaise with classification societies and flag authorities as necessary.

  6. Coordinate procurement of spares and critical equipment, focusing on cost-effective options.

  7. Plan and supervise dry-docking, repairs, and technical projects, including upgrades and major maintenance.

  8. Provide technical guidance and training to onboard crew members.

  9. Conduct periodic physical inspections of vessels to assess condition, crew, and IMS.

  10. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.

Key Requirements:

  • At least 10-12 years of experience in the shipping industry, with a focus on large sea-going vessels.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience sailing as a Chief Engineer.
  • Preferably, at least 2 years of shore experience as a Superintendent.
  • Work experience on ME engines is preferred.
  • Experience working with cranes and grabs is beneficial.
