Job Title: Deputy General Manager Human Resources

Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned Deputy General Manager to spearhead the HR function at our manufacturing site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing human resources strategies and policies in support of business objectives. This includes managing harmonious industrial relations, ensuring legal and statutory compliance, and overseeing employee lifecycle processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Partnership: As Site HR Head, you will plan, implement, and evaluate employee relations and human resource programs and practices. You will partner with business leaders to understand their needs and align people strategy accordingly.
  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: You will lead talent acquisition efforts by providing a talented workforce within tight timelines to ensure business continuity. You will identify manpower requirements based on business priorities and plan budgets accordingly. Ensure best-in-class onboarding experiences for new joiners.
  • HR Manpower Planning, Budgeting: Assist in budgeting processes for all HR items, including manpower costs and operational expenditures. Periodically review actual spends versus approved budgets, optimize manpower utilization, and analyze trends to ensure manpower costs remain within budget. Identify opportunities for savings and realize periodic savings.
  • Performance Management: Drive continuous performance management and annual compensation reviews for the site. Train line managers on goal setting and sharing performance feedback. Enable business leaders to make informed decisions regarding promotions, compensation revisions, and other personnel matters.
  • Talent Management: Implement periodic talent management reviews and ensure development/retention plans are executed. Create and implement succession plans for critical roles. Understand talent priorities, identify development needs, and drive programs to address them.
  • Learning & Development: Promote a culture of learning and high performance. Identify training needs, prepare training calendars, and evaluate training efficacy. Work with the corporate HR team to implement various training programs for the site.
  • HR Compliance & Statutory Obligations: Ensure HR legal compliances by monitoring and implementing applicable statutes, maintaining records, and representing the organization at relevant associations. Liaise with government agencies, labor offices, and other regulatory bodies to maintain compliance.
  • Labour Management: Maintain a harmonious and productive industrial relations environment. Monitor productivity, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure compliance with statutory regulations. Resolve employee grievances in a timely manner and take disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Employee Engagement & Wellbeing: Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and wellbeing. Lead wellbeing initiatives at the site, focusing on holistic employee wellbeing.
  • HR Operations: Supervise and review all HR operations related to employee lifecycle processes. Streamline and improve efficiency in HR operations.
  • Leadership Development: Guide and coach HR team members to take higher responsibility, manage stakeholders effectively, and develop next-line leaders.
  • Special Projects: Support special HR-related projects to meet specific business needs.
