Head - Wafer Electrical

Job Description

Tata Electronics is building India's first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry, producing chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic.

The team lead will oversee the Wafer Electrical Test (E-Test) and Wafer Sort Test module team for a 300mm Wafer Fab, ensuring quality compliance across 28nm to 110nm nodes with technology transfer partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with suppliers to procure top-tier tools and consumables
  • Managing a 24x7 production test floor team of engineers and technicians
  • Defining floorplans and ensuring capacity with Facilities and Industrial Engineering teams
  • Driving process improvements and test time reduction

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of device physics, process modules, yield improvement, failure mechanisms, and experience with Etest Program and equipment.

Desired qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Engineering Physics, Materials Science or equivalent; Master's degree preferred
  • 12+ years' experience in the semiconductor industry and leading cross-functional projects, teams to achieve organizational objectives
Responsibilities

The job involves overseeing the daily activities of the production test floor team, managing their workflow and directing them to achieve the best results. This includes:

  • Ensuring that all tests are conducted efficiently and effectively
  • Monitoring the progress of ongoing projects and identifying areas for improvement
  • Providing technical guidance to team members and ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their tasks
  • Coordinating with other departments, such as facilities and industrial engineering, to ensure smooth operation of the facility
Requirements

For this position, we are looking for someone with a strong background in electrical engineering and a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team
  • Ability to analyze complex data and identify areas for improvement
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
