Job Overview

This role is a key technical position responsible for delivering high-quality IT infrastructure support to ensure the availability, stability, and performance of datacentres, platforms, and corporate systems.

Main Responsibilities
  • AIX Server management and administration with a focus on efficiency and reliability.
  • SAN and storage array management to optimise storage capacity and reduce costs.
  • Implementation and management of backup, replication, HA and Recovery technologies to prevent data loss.
  • AIX Server Security Management to protect against cyber threats and maintain compliance.
  • AIX Server hardware maintenance to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Team Structure and Objectives

This position is part of the Infrastructure department and reports directly to the Infrastructure Head.

The team's primary objectives are to administer and manage all development, UAT, pre-production, production, and DR environments as well as internal corporate IT systems.

The team is expected to deliver high-quality services that meet the following criteria:

  • Availability: Ensure uptime SLA's are met every month for systems by managing and resolving issues logs, performing scheduled maintenance to minimise disruption.
  • Performance: Ensure performance SLA's are met every month for systems by monitoring system performance, capacity, and growth, suggesting and implementing performance improvements and hardware/software refreshes.
  • Information Security: Ensure the network and systems are secure by following existing policies and procedures, documenting for audit purposes, and implementing security projects.
  • Business Continuity: Ensure FNZ-held data is secure and backed up by ensuring regular backups are made and tested, participating in yearly BCP & DR tests, and ensuring new builds are in line with company requirements.

The role requires ongoing commitment to professional and technical knowledge and skills, including providing technical advice and mentoring within the team and staying up-to-date with the latest server and storage technologies.
