About the Job

The Category Manager plays a crucial role in defining and driving the strategic direction of a specific category. They oversee a team, develop and execute category plans, and drive growth and profitability within their assigned category.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a long-term vision and strategy for category development and execute it with precision.
  • Develop strong partnerships with cross-functional teams.
  • Take ownership of the profit-and-loss statement for the group of categories managed.
  • Foster key customer relationships and drive business value.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to inform decisions and drive results.
  • Prioritize collaboration and experience managing high-performing teams.
  • Knowledge of global assortment is a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency in analytics is essential for identifying growth areas and executing strategies.
  • Identify profitable suppliers and buyers and establish business partnerships.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to achieve Key Results Areas (KRAs).

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in category management.
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing and sales operations.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 5+ years of work experience in B2B industries.
  • Astute business acumen and analytical ability.
  • Prior experience in operations, project management, or vendor management.

Skills and Qualifications

  • High level of accountability and willingness to drive initiatives.
  • Superior research skills and resourcefulness.
  • Knowledge of plastic, paper recycling, and supply chain processes is an asset.
  • Excellent planning and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and capacity to work under pressure.
