Process Design Development Engineer Role Overview

Job Title: Process and Product Design Development Engineer

This role involves ensuring the quality and compliance of automotive products throughout the design and development process, leveraging CMMI/ASPICE practices and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Design Process Management: Assess product development process (SPDP), identify gaps, redefine SPDP, conduct audits, and implement improvements.
  • Quality Management: Implement and maintain quality management systems in product design and development, ensure compliance with international standards, and implement CMMI practices.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in product design and development, implement lean and Six Sigma principles to enhance efficiency and reduce defects.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with product design and development, work closely with teams to address potential quality issues.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis for design failure/design quality issues, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality processes, inspections, and audits, manage DRD-design release documents, and product gate clearance documents.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with design, engineering, manufacturing, NPD, Smart network, Systems, and program management teams to establish and maintain SPDP requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree: In mechanical/electrical/production engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in product design and development with a focus on product design quality management.
  • Knowledge: Of international quality standards, such as ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 9001, CMMI.
  • Skills: Familiarity with risk management principles and methodologies, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and experience with design tools and software, including Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
