Job Overview:

This role oversees the IT Project Portfolio Governance, enforces project management frameworks, and ensures successful execution of all IT projects. As a seasoned project manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT Project Management Office (PMO).

The PMO Manager is responsible for managing the IT portfolio, ensuring that all projects are aligned with business objectives, and that they are executed on time and within budget.

You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure that project goals are met, and that deliverables are high-quality. Your expertise in project management methodologies, such as Agile and Scrum, will be invaluable in leading cross-functional teams to success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the IT portfolio, including IT planning, portfolio governance, project methodology framework, and resource capacity management.
  • Oversee project management standards and practices across the IT project portfolio.
  • Supervise and mentor the project management team, including performance reviews, career growth, and training.
  • Create and maintain staffing plans for internal and external resources.
  • Analyse project proposals to determine timelines, funding, and required processes.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project teams throughout all project phases.
  • Implement effective project communication, including steering committee meetings and status reports.
  • Manage project risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure alignment of project goals with business objectives and manage delivery on time and within budget.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7+ years' experience in project management of complex IT projects.
  • Deep understanding of Agile frameworks, such as Scrum and SAFe.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Background in Business Analysis.
  • Proven experience managing an IT Portfolio or PMO.
  • Prior team leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing external vendors and contract staff.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and meet goals, define schedules, allocate resources, and implement processes.
