Job Title

We are seeking a highly experienced Design Engineer to lead the design and development of pressure control equipment per API 6A standards.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of API 6A product design and certification processes, as well as proficiency in INVENTOR, VAULT, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and engineering analysis tools.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs using Inventor, Vault or similar CAD tools. They will also conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other mechanical calculations to validate designs.

The Design Engineer will ensure compliance with API 6A, ASME, and customer-specific requirements. They will collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, sales, and supply chain teams.

The engineer will provide engineering support for prototype testing, failure analysis, and continuous improvement efforts. They will participate in and/or lead design reviews, DFMEAs, and engineering change processes.

In addition, the Design Engineer will mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of internal engineering standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of pressure control equipment per API 6A standards.
  • Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs.
  • Conduct FEA and other mechanical calculations to validate designs.
  • Ensure compliance with API 6A, ASME, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Cross-functionally collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sales, and supply chain teams.
  • Provide engineering support for prototype testing, failure analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in and/or lead design reviews, DFMEAs, and engineering change processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of internal engineering standards and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required); Master's preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering in the oil & gas industry.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with API 6A product design and certification processes.
  • Proficiency in INVENTOR, VAULT, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and engineering analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, API 6A, and API Q1 standards.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
