Job Title: Big Data Specialist

About the Role:
  • We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems using Big Data technologies.
  • Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in PySpark, with experience in building efficient applications using Spark Dataframes in Python.
  • The role also requires the ability to optimize spark jobs that process huge volumes of data, as well as experience with version control tools like Git.
  • A working knowledge of Amazon's Analytics services, such as Amazon EMR, Amazon Athena, and AWS Glue, is also highly desirable.
  • In addition, we are looking for someone with a good understanding of datawarehousing concepts, including dimensions, facts, schemas, snowflake, and star designs.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of overall IT experience.
  • Hands-on experience in Python and PySpark.
  • Familiarity with columnar storage formats, such as Parquet, Avro, and ORC.
  • Well-versed in compression techniques, including Snappy and Gzip.
  • Knowledge of AWS databases, including Aurora, RDS, Redshift, ElastiCache, and DynamoDB.
