About the Role

This position is for an experienced OpenShift administrator who will act as a subject matter expert for the platform.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Kubernetes internals, API objects, and Operators. They will be responsible for leading resolution of critical or complex OpenShift issues, performing troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and preventive action planning.

Additionally, they will oversee cluster capacity, performance, and scaling, plan and execute platform upgrades, migrations, and architecture changes. They will also develop automation scripts and tooling for platform management.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of container networking, ingress, and service mesh technologies. They will also have experience with automation and GitOps tooling, such as Ansible, Terraform, ArgoCD, and Flux.

They will be able to mentor L2 engineers, review their escalations, and build operational knowledge base. They will also liaise with architecture and DevOps teams on enhancements and new capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead resolution of critical or complex OpenShift issues
  • Perform deep-dive troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and preventive action planning
  • Oversee and optimize cluster capacity, performance, and scaling
  • Plan and execute platform upgrades, migrations, and architecture changes
  • Develop automation scripts and tooling for platform management
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in Linux administration
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in OpenShift (v4 preferred)
  • Expert-level understanding of Kubernetes internals, API objects, Operators
  • Strong knowledge of container networking, ingress, and service mesh technologies
  • Experience with automation and GitOps tooling (Ansible, Terraform, ArgoCD, Flux)
