Commercial and Technology Lawyer

Join us as a skilled commercial and technology lawyer where you will be part of our legal team that provides a range of legal services and advice across various activities at the cutting edge of law, innovation, and regulation.

• You will advise on a range of commercial and technology agreements work-types including regulatory aspects partnering with stakeholders such as procurement teams and front-line business teams.
• You will need to be a dynamic qualified lawyer with relevant post-qualification experience and strong technical knowledge of general commercial/technology agreements including experience in negotiating and advising on these agreements for example software licenses hardware and software maintenance SaaS and cloud services sponsorship professional services data and index licensing and PoCs.
• (Experience in advising on these types of agreements as related to the financial services industry context will be an advantage but is not essential)

• Essential Skillsets/Must Have:
• Excellent English communication skills (reading writing and speaking).

Desirable Skills:

• Managing Litigation matters including Dawn Raids ie uninformed visits by statutory or regulatory authorities.
• Handling Corporate Legal matters including providing general legal advisory to internal business units or group entities.
• Complying with and advising on Legal risk policies.
• Advising on statutory compliances.
• Working in IT/ITES or Financial Services or Fintech.
• You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in the role such as risk and controls change and transformation business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology as well as job-specific technical skill.

Purpose of the Role:

• To ensure that the commercial innovation technology real estate sponsorship data licensing and service activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and to help the bank manage legal and reputational risks associated with these activities.

Accountabilities:

• Development and implementation of best practice legal strategies for risk management and compliance.
• Legal advice and support to the business on Commercial Innovation Technology Areas including regulatory advice and advocacy innovation and technology strategy and contract drafting review and negotiation.
• Representation of the bank in legal proceedings related to Commercial Innovation Technology Areas such as litigation arbitration and regulatory investigations.
• Creation and review of legal documents including agreements and licenses for commercial services technology software data real estate and sponsorship and other legal documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Legal research and analysis to stay up to date on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the bank across the Commercial Innovation Technology Areas.
• Developing and delivering training programs to educate employees on legal and regulatory requirements related to the Commercial Innovation Technology Areas.
• Pro-active identification communication and provision of legal advice on applicable laws rules and regulations.
• Keeping up to date with regards to changes to laws rules and regulations in the relevant coverage area.
• Ensuring that laws rules and regulations are effectively allocated to and adequately reflected within the relevant policies standards and controls.
