Job Title: Data Migration Specialist

About the Role:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our data migration efforts from Tableau to Power BI. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience in business intelligence, specifically within the Insurance domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the migration of BI solutions from Tableau to Power BI, optimizing data models and ensuring efficient reporting.
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to understand complex business requirements and translate them into effective Power BI solutions.
  • Migrate Tableau dashboards to Power BI, adapting visual design and transforming data as needed.
  • Design and implement dimensional models that support scalable and high-performance reporting.
  • Experience with Power Query for data transformation and creating optimized queries for Power BI data models.

Requirements:

  • 6-8 years of experience working in business intelligence, with substantial experience in both Tableau and Power BI.
  • Strong expertise in Power BI report development, including DAX, data modeling, and visualization best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL query performance tuning to optimize the data extraction process for Power BI.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver successful BI solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of the insurance industry and ability to translate complex business requirements into effective BI solutions.
  • Experience with Power BI Service, including report publishing, sharing, and managing data refresh schedules.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in a scrum team to deliver BI solutions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in Power BI (Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) or related Microsoft certifications.
  • Experience with Power BI administration, including managing workspaces, dataflows, and collaboration between teams.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based Power BI solutions, including Azure integration and management of cloud-based data sources.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Power BI server and report performance optimization on Tableau prior to migration.
  • Familiarity with data governance and security frameworks for BI platforms, including user access and report permissions.
