**Job Overview**

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Design Specialist to join our interdisciplinary UAV engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of Hybrid UAV systems and subsystems, with an emphasis on design excellence, manufacturability, integration readiness, and cross-functional collaboration.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • CAD-Based Mechanical Design & Ownership

The successful candidate will lead the mechanical design of Hybrid UAV subsystems and payload interfaces using advanced parametric CAD tools. This includes developing and maintaining complex CAD trees, system layouts, and 3D model integrity across revisions. Furthermore, they will drive modular and scalable design practices in line with product architecture.

  • TAD (Tooling & Assembly Definition)

Responsibilities also include preparing assembly BOMs, jigs and fixture interfaces, and supporting design-to-assembly planning. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to design improvements based on ease of assembly, maintainability, and ergonomics.

  • PLM Integration

The successful candidate must be experienced in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems for version control, workflows, and digital thread management.

  • Structural Design & Collaboration

Ability to interpret FEA results, collaborate with analysis teams, and optimize design based on structural feedback is essential.

  • Material Engineering & Manufacturability

Evaluating designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and reliability using DFM, DFX, and material selection tools is a key responsibility.

  • Additive Manufacturing & 3D Printing

Selecting suitable printer types, grain structures, material properties, and post-processing requirements based on the use-case is a critical task.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

The successful candidate will work closely with systems engineering, integration, sourcing, testing, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless design implementation.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

To succeed in this role, you will require strong technical skills, including proficiency in CAD software, PLM systems, and additive manufacturing techniques. Strong communication and collaboration skills are also essential, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
