Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Azure Lead MS-SQL DBA to join our team. As a key member of our database administration group, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment.

  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performing and highly available Microsoft SQL Server databases in Azure
  • Provision, configure, and manage Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines
  • Develop and implement robust backup and restore operations, validate recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)
  • Monitor database performance using Azure Monitor, SQL Insights, and Query Store
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks by optimizing queries, indexes, and resource allocation

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience working with Azure and MS-SQL databases
  • Experience as a Lead Admin with expertise in designing and architecture of Public cloud environments such as Oracle OCI or Azure
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL)
  • Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization techniques
  • Experience with database security principles and implementation
  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI)
