Data Engineering Role Overview

As a skilled Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building robust data pipelines for collecting, processing, and storing large volumes of data. You will work collaboratively with our team to integrate data from diverse sources into our cloud-based data warehouse using efficient ETL/ELT processes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop data pipelines using the dbt framework to collect, process, and store large volumes of data.
  • Develop efficient ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from diverse sources into our cloud-based data warehouse.
  • Operate and optimize cloud infrastructure, including AWS, Databricks, and Snowflake, to support data pipelines and processing tasks.
  • Develop and maintain optimized data models and schemas for performance, scalability, and reliability using Kimball methodology.
  • Participate in code reviews, maintain clear documentation, and engage in knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Implement robust data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree;
  • Proficiency in Snowflake, SQL, and ETL pipelines;
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, Databricks, and handling large datasets with DataFrames;
  • Ability to transform complex data into easily understood, actionable information;
  • Mastery with a core language and framework and experienced in another. Preferred programming languages are Java, Kotlin, Python;
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC);
  • Experience implementing best practices on big data platforms.
