Data Engineering Role Overview

As a seasoned Cloud Data Architect, you will be working with our team to guide and assist clients' data modernization journey. You'll be the day-to-day primary point of contact with our clients to modernize their data infrastructures, architecture, and pipelines.

  • Consulting clients on cloud-first strategies for core data initiatives
  • Providing thought leadership on both process and technical matters
  • Becoming a real champion and trusted advisor to our clients on all facets of Data Engineering
  • Designing, developing, deploying, and supporting the modernization and transformation of client's end-to-end data strategy, including infrastructure, collection, transmission, processing, and analytics

You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes through innovative data engineering solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Mentoring and educating client's teams to keep them up to speed with the latest approaches, tools, and skills
  2. Setting clients up for continued success post-delivery
Requirements
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer Associate or Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification
  • Experience working in consulting or contracting capacity in large data management and modernization programs
  • Expertise in SQL Servers, data engineering on platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, and Synapse
  • Detailed knowledge of Delta Lake and Lakehouse Architecture
  • Familiarity with securing Azure environment using RBAC, Key Vault, and Azure Security Center
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka and Spark in production environments
  • Strong DBA experience in large-scale MS SQL environments deployed in Azure
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to identify root causes
  • Knowledge of Scala or Python programming languages
  • Familiarity with Linux administration and networking
  • Scripting skills and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience using PowerShell, Bash, and ARM templates
  • Understanding of security and corporate governance issues related to cloud-first data architecture
