Freelance Modeler Engineer Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled freelance modeler engineer to join our team of experts. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong background in SAS and Python programming.

As a Freelance Modeler Engineer, you will be responsible for building, validating, and maintaining statistical/predictive models using SAS and Python. Your expertise will be essential in architecting and executing large-scale migration strategies from SAS to Python. Additionally, you will be tasked with converting SAS macros, procedures, and workflows into optimized Python equivalents and defining modeling standards, workflows, and performance monitoring frameworks.

You will also have the opportunity to guide team members on Python adoption, coding practices, and analytics workflows, leveraging your leadership skills to influence stakeholders and deliver high-impact results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Modeling & Analytics: Build, validate, and maintain statistical/predictive models (SAS + Python).
  • Migration Leadership: Architect and execute large-scale SAS → Python migration strategy.
  • Code Translation: Convert SAS macros, procedures, and workflows into optimized Python equivalents.
  • Best Practices: Define modeling standards, workflows, and performance monitoring frameworks.
  • Mentorship: Guide team members on Python adoption, coding practices, and analytics workflows.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following skills:
  • SAS Mastery: Base SAS, SAS/STAT, Enterprise Miner, Visual Analytics, PROC SQL, macros.
  • Python Expertise: pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, seaborn, PySpark (bonus).
  • Statistical Strength: Regression, forecasting, clustering, classification, A/B testing, causal inference.
  • Migration Experience: Proven success leading large-scale SAS to Python transitions.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver high-impact results.
