Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and settlements to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Track AR and AP balances, resolving discrepancies and following up on outstanding amounts over 60 days.
  • Investigate and resolve intercompany accounting differences to align business units.
  • Process corrections for billback requests from development and construction accounting teams.

Critical Close & Consolidation Process:

  • Assist in the monthly close process, ensuring proper coding, approval, and recording of intercompany transactions.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to direct expenses to correct ledgers.
  • Prepare journal entries to reclassify expenses to regional ledgers.
  • Guarantee accurate intercompany reporting within ERP systems.

Effective Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work with tax teams to manage timely payment and billback of federal, state, and local taxes and fees.
  • Partner with corporate accounting teams to enhance enterprise-wide efficiency and standardization of intercompany processes.
  • Participate in system testing and ERP upgrades related to intercompany functions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in high-volume transaction environments with real estate, development, or construction accounting.

Desirable Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of corporate and project accounting principles, GAAP, and multi-entity consolidations.
  • Understanding of business operations to ensure accurate expense coding.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, Yardi, MRI, JD Edwards, RealPage, or SAP.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
