
Taxation Advisory Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Advisory Manager to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about taxation.
About the Job- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing advisory engagements, providing tax advice to clients, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage end-to-end regulatory compliance processes for acquisitions and ensure seamless integration and adherence to legal and procedural requirements.
- Plan tax due diligence work and advise clients on negotiating transaction terms based on findings of tax due diligence.
- Devise a practical approach to resolving tax issues in structuring assignments and conduct comprehensive reviews of business operations to identify tax planning opportunities and compliance gaps.
- Support partners/principals in tax planning and management of assignments, under their guidance.
- Develop commercial substance in current processes and procedures and innovate and improve plans for closing assignments.
- Proactively communicate, respond, and share updates on assignment development with clients on a regular basis.
- Be the central point of contact and liaise with client stakeholders, partners/principals, local stakeholders, and the team.
- Develop and maintain relationships with CFOs and tax directors, creating a high-quality professional network.
- Identify and ideate leads from public and private sources and evaluate feasibility of new opportunities.
- Prepare pitch proposals for client meetings.
- Identify new business opportunities in existing clients by tracking developments at the client end, tax arena, and industry trends.
- Build credibility and deliver high-quality solutions while building rapport with principals/partners' clients and key stakeholders to ensure repeat business.
- Understand the tax compliance landscape and ideate how technology can be used internally (by tax professionals) and externally (by industry clients) to make the compliance process more effective, simpler, speedier, and qualitatively superior.
- Acquire industry insights to improvise on current services and develop content for networking in external events and seminars.
- Share knowledge acquired from external forums with team members and regularly update the knowledge management database with new updates.
- Represent and endorse expertise and scope of service at various external forums.
- Interact with peers and build a high-quality network in the industry.
- Publish articles and research papers on a regular basis and share knowledge and learning at external forums to increase visibility and credibility.
- Provide guidance to the team proactively to enable them to deliver on assignments.
- Identify and point out challenges so that they can be overcome quickly with solutions and support team members to resolve challenges/conflicts.
- Connect with the team regularly to ensure assignments are closed within agreed timelines.
- Create a learning environment and encourage people to leverage each other's strengths and deliver high-quality, consistent performance.
- Review available information and assess data/documents required from clients. Research and scrutinize all aspects of the assignment with the team to ideate and provide optimal solutions.
- Support partners/principals by drafting memos/opinions and reports.
- Build client relationships and develop strong understanding of client requirements and business.
- Review available information and necessary data/documents required from clients.
- Scrutinize notices/orders and share inputs with partners/principals for further steps.
- Research and scrutinize all aspects of the assignment with the team to ideate and provide optimal solutions.
- Draft appeals for review by partners/principals and attend hearings. Attend hearings/submissions of appeal and proactively update clients on assignment development.
- COMPLIANCES: Review documents/forms/returns internally to maintain accuracy. Periodically coordinate with clients for necessary documents and record all documents related to assignments secured to ensure smooth closure.
- Offer necessary data and information to assist clients as needed.
- Capture key outcomes of client meetings accurately and share comprehensive summaries with clients/partners.
- Devising litigation plans and solutions to effectively resolve clients' tax disputes.
- Review engagement letters with precision.
- Monitor the entire invoicing process, including diligent follow-ups for outstanding payments and monitoring payment statuses.
- Establish and uphold data controls for research papers and perform regular hygiene checks to ensure accuracy.
- Assist principals in updating MIS on a regular basis.
- Prepare service summaries.
- Review important client communications.
- Ensure all facts & research is recorded securely.
- Identify project overruns and initiate actions to recover from the same.
- Maintain a blend of self and team contribution.
