Job Description

As a Senior Engineer-Manufacturing Team Lead, you will oversee the production and assembly of GIS modules and components. Your primary responsibility will be to lead a team of engineers in the production process, ensuring strict compliance with EHS policies and procedures.

You will plan and execute daily production schedules for GIS modules and bays, monitor KPIs such as Productivity, Efficiency, Utilization Rate, and Reducing Leakages. Additionally, you will oversee the assembly and integration of GIS components, coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure zero-defect assembly and adherence to IEC standards.

Your role also includes monitoring equipment, jigs, and fixtures for safe and correct use, conducting first-level troubleshooting of production and testing issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency.

Furthermore, you will train and mentor technicians on new processes, tools, and safety practices, ensure documentation accuracy for assembly checklists, test reports, and traceability, and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and customer inspections.

Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of GIS technology, high-voltage assembly processes, and SF₆ gas handling procedures.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, electrical integration, and HV testing.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards related to GIS manufacturing and testing.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability in a high-voltage production environment.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and quality tools.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Production Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 8-10+ years' experience in GIS manufacturing or high-voltage equipment assembly (145kV to 800kV).
  • Certified training in SF₆ handling and EHS compliance preferred.
  • Experience in team leadership/shif tin-charge roles in a GIS or switchgear facility.
