Cloud Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to work as a cloud engineer.

This position will be responsible for ensuring the uptime of systems in a high-availability customer-facing environment.

You will collaborate with a dynamic team of development engineers and other functions to provision cloud resources for hosted solutions.

The ideal candidate will actively drive cloud automation activities, size and tune cloud resources, and implement automated alerting and monitoring tools.

This is a full-time opportunity based at our office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and maintain infrastructure for hosted solutions in private and public clouds.
  • Manage application releases, configuration, upgrades, and support for Java microservices and third-party services in a SaaS environment.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technology issues efficiently in live production environments.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure team to escalate issues for triage and resolution.
  • Lead cloud automation initiatives to avoid recurrence of issues and trigger automated actions to improve system availability.
  • Establish proactive monitoring of all systems, services, and networks to detect and resolve problems.
  • Implement DevSecOps practices in collaboration with the Security team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end software development lifecycle using CI/CD tools like Jenkins/GitLab, Argo CD, Helm Charts.
  • Good knowledge of systems (Unix/Linux, open-source, JVM) and networking (TCP/IP, SNMP, SMTP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS, VPN, routing tables), load balancers (F5), and firewalls.
  • Experience in container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes, and VMware.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code frameworks like Ansible Script, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, scripting, and monitoring tools (ELK).
  • Knowledge of queuing systems like RabbitMQ, Kafka, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.
  • Web server/application server deployments and administration.
  • Understanding of Windows Servers, Windows Operating System.
  • Understanding of multi-tier architecture, web-based development, and Service-Oriented Architecture.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize balance activity between strategic projects for longer-term impact and immediate production critical requirements with a customer focus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in system setup, configuration, diagnosis, and monitoring of Enterprise-grade SaaS services.
