Job Title: Facade Access Engineer

Role Summary:

The Facade Access Engineer is responsible for designing and providing facade access solutions in compliance with international standards and industry best practices. This role involves ensuring high-quality output within the Façade Access team, while also supporting other specialist disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executing CAD and BIM design tasks as directed by Engineers.
  • Coordinating structural and MEP design items with other disciplines.
  • Designing items with architects.
  • Setting slab edges and defining cladding zones.
  • Reading architectural and structural drawings.
  • Defining and indicating waterproofing and thermal insulation.
  • Producing high-quality design drawings in 2D and 3D.
  • Navigating Revit 3D software.
  • Exporting models and sections in different drafting software.
  • Maintaining quality and accuracy of drawings.
  • Generating sections, schedules, and schematics from general arrangement drawings.
  • Issuing and filing drawings in an appropriate manner.
  • Converting ACAD drawings to other formats.
  • Providing regular work status updates.
  • Embedding health and safety into all work practices.
  • Developing expertise in relevant technical fields.
  • Contributing to the delivery of business unit strategy.
  • Identifying improvements to enhance service to clients.
  • Leading by example and ensuring QMS compliance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years relevant work experience using AutoCAD in the facade engineering field.
  • Contractor background required for shop drawing level detailing.
  • Proven ability to work up drawings from basic sketches to full working drawings.
  • Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD software, including X-Refs, Lisp, Blocks, Layers, Model Space Paper Space, Viewports, Pen Setting files, and utilities.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk software and understanding of ACAD customization.
  • Good working knowledge of facade-specific software and architectural software.
  • Min 10 years experience in facade design and drawing.
  • Working knowledge of the relevant discipline.
  • Diploma in Architecture, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
  • Experience with international facade contractors.
