Job Description

Alight is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our development team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in software architecture, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for defining project processes, best practices, and ensuring compliance to ensure quality delivery at the right time. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can embrace new technologies and cutting-edge development practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of talented developers to deliver high-quality customer-facing progressive web applications that can run at scale.
  • Create buy-in for the strategy, set priorities, and communicate across business partners and stakeholders.
  • Define world-class customer/delivery experiences for our customers.
  • Provide management, administrative/technical support to project teams and ensure program deliverables are met timely and efficiently.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10-16 years of professional experience, with 5+ years of experience leading development teams of 20-25 resources.
  • Solid knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices.
  • Strong debugging/diagnostic and analytical skills, especially in complex application stacks.
