Senior MSSQL Database Administrator

As a Senior MSSQL Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of our database systems. This position requires extensive experience in MSSQL database administration, including backup and restore procedures, patching, script deployment, and optimization of T-SQL code and SSIS packages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain MSSQL database instances, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances, and database mirroring.
  • Develop and implement backup and restore strategies to ensure data integrity and availability in accordance with business requirements.
  • Perform regular database patching, upgrades, and security enhancements in collaboration with the IT security team.
  • Deploy and maintain database scripts and stored procedures to automate routine tasks and enhance system performance.
  • Optimize T-SQL queries and SSIS packages for improved efficiency and performance.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and tune database configurations for optimal throughput.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and security best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to application developers and other IT teams regarding database design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to database-related incidents in a timely manner.


Required Skills and Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience in MSSQL database administration, including backup and restore procedures, patching, script deployment, and optimization of T-SQL code and SSIS packages.
  • Expertise in high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances, and database mirroring.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Postgres, and Cassandra is preferred.
