Job Overview

The Maintenance Manager position plays a vital role in supporting the Maintenance Department. This key team member oversees engineering, electrical, and civil maintenance activities for the facility.

Key responsibilities include preventive maintenance planning, repair estimation, vendor performance monitoring, and safety inspections.

The successful candidate will partner with Operations to resolve technical issues related to equipment breakdowns, improve maintenance practices, and ensure smooth operations.

This role is responsible for coordinating fuel and electricity management, spare part inventory, and facility compliance with safety and environmental standards.

A small team of maintenance technicians will be supervised by this individual to ensure timely completion and quality standards are met.

  • Preventive Maintenance Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive preventive maintenance plans to minimize equipment downtime and extend lifespan.
  • Supervision of Electrical, Mechanical, and Firefighting Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance activities for electrical, mechanical, and firefighting equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Vendor Performance Monitoring and Maintenance Material Management: Monitor vendor performance, manage maintenance materials, and maintain accurate records of spare parts inventory.
  • Compliance with Safety Regulations and Environmental Standards: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards, conducting regular safety inspections and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications and Skills: Master's degree in a relevant discipline or certifications in Maintenance Management/Facilities Management are highly desirable. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and rail siding equipment maintenance, proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
  1. Conduct daily rounds to inspect equipment and identify potential issues.
  2. Develop and implement effective preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
  3. Collaborate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of spare parts and maintenance services.
  4. Provide training and guidance to junior technicians on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
  5. Prepare and present reports on maintenance activities, fuel usage, and electrical consumption to senior management.
