Tax Consultant Job Overview

This role is a professional position that requires in-depth knowledge of specialty areas and industry standards.

The candidate will have the ability to solve complex problems independently and work closely with teams to achieve objectives. We are looking for an experienced tax consultant who can support our company's tax liability management, including compliance, financial reporting, planning, and controversy processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Support overall tax liability management for Citi, including compliance, financial reporting, planning, and controversy processes.
  • Contribute to tax liability planning, accounting, filing, and reporting for the company.
  • Assist in determining and compiling information required to satisfy non-income tax filing and related requirements at all levels of jurisdiction.
  • Participate in managing payments to tax authorities in compliance with specific tax regulations.
  • Identify and resolve problems using autonomous judgment.
  • Implement workflow or process changes and redesign using thorough knowledge of the function.
  • Accountable for regular reporting or process administration as owner.
  • Focus on execution within defined parameters.
  • Assist in managing one or more processes, reports, procedures, or products.
  • Operate with limited direct supervision and exercise independence of judgment and autonomy.

Requirements:

  • Relevant 4-7 years of experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Non-Income Tax Consolidation.
  • International taxing VAT/GST experience.
  • Acumen in managing non-income tax reporting requirements applicable to products and services across Citi's lines of business, including Value Added, GST, and other Non-US Non-Income Tax.
  • Strong communication skills to drive engagement and close interactions with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of internal customers and senior management.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience.
