OpenShift Administrator Role OverviewJob Title:

Technical Lead for OpenShift Operations

This role focuses on leading OpenShift platform administration, architecture, and operations. The successful candidate will have expertise in Linux, Kubernetes internals, API objects, Operators, container networking, ingress, and service mesh technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure high availability, performance, and security of the OpenShift cluster.
  2. Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and preventive action planning for critical or complex issues.
  3. Oversee capacity planning, scaling, and optimization of the cluster.
  4. Plan and execute platform upgrades, migrations, and architecture changes.
  5. Develop automation scripts and tooling for platform management.
  6. Define and implement security frameworks, compliance, and governance policies.
  7. Mentor junior engineers and review their escalations.
  8. Liaise with architecture and DevOps teams on enhancements and new capabilities.
  9. Improve monitoring, alerting, and operational processes.
  10. Own process improvements and standardization across environments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in Linux administration.
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in OpenShift (v4 preferred).
  • Expert-level understanding of Kubernetes internals, API objects, Operators.
  • Strong knowledge of container networking, ingress, and service mesh technologies.
  • Experience with automation and GitOps tooling.
  • Proven track record in leading platform upgrades, migrations, and optimizations.
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks.
Preferrable Qualifications:
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (latest version).
  • RHCA or equivalent advanced-level certification.

As a key member of the technical team, this individual will contribute to the design, development, and operation of OpenShift platforms. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
