Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing risk factors associated with businesses, customizing policies, and coordinating with underwriters at various insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze risk factors associated with businesses, considering their industry, size, financials, and other relevant factors.
  • Customize policies by adding/removing covers, riders, or endorsements based on the client's specific needs.
  • Coordinate with underwriters at various insurance companies to obtain quotes and underwriting decisions.
  • Follow up for approvals, reinsurance support (if required), and final underwriting clearance.
  • Verify all required documents from clients, including KYC, proposal forms, declarations, etc.
  • Stay updated on underwriting norms, product circulars, and compliance requirements to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulations.
  • Explain underwriting requirements, terms, exclusions, and conditions to clients in a clear and concise manner.
  • Support the sales team by providing underwriting guidance and clarifications to facilitate smooth policy issuance.
  • Address client queries related to risk approvals or policy issuance delays, ensuring timely resolution and high customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, underwriters, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • A strong understanding of underwriting principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
