Job Description: We are seeking an expert in electron optics to design and develop high-resolution imaging systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optics, electronics, and software engineering.

The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting and aligning the electron-optical column for high-resolution, low-drift performance. This includes establishing practical tuning workflows for production and service.

To achieve this, we require someone with deep experience in electron optics. Hands-on experience with alignment, vacuum hardware, and lab metrology is essential. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable moving between modeling (their solver of choice), bench work, and factory documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and align the column for high-resolution, low-drift performance.
  • Establish practical tuning workflows for production and service.
  • Translate optics theory into tolerances, calibration routines, and alignment jigs that are repeatable outside the lab.
  • Co-design with Electronics to ensure deterministic beam control and with Software to expose intuitive imaging controls.
  • Build and maintain the calibration playbook - resolution, magnification, distortion - and train others to run it.
