Quality Assurance Tester for Drilling Applications

We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Tester to support our client's drilling suite of applications. This role combines QA expertise with upstream oil & gas domain knowledge, requiring the ability to execute and evaluate software tests across functionality, architecture, and security.

  • This position involves providing engineering support in drilling and completions to ensure seamless operation of the team.
  • The ideal candidate will contribute as an active Software Tester on Agile teams, developing and executing test cases based on acceptance criteria.
  • The successful candidate will validate functionality, workflows, and end-user requirements, identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs through resolution.
  • The role requires verifying development changes do not impact associated areas of functionality and participating in sprint planning, ensuring QA requirements are covered.
  • Maintenance of test environments and contribution to automation frameworks is also essential.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum, Geophysics, Geology, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 2+ years in QA/testing (Oil & Gas upstream applications preferred).
  • Good understanding of upstream applications.
  • Knowledge of well engineering concepts: drilling techniques, fluids management, completions, well performance.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools (e.g. WellCat, WellPlan, Compass)
  • Exposure to automation frameworks and test tools.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC/STLC and multiple test types (Smoke, Functional, Regression, UAT, Performance).
  • Hands-on experience with test/defect management tools (Azure DevOps, TFS, JIRA).
  • Agile methodology experience.
  • ISTQB certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
