We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Engineering Director to lead our engineering activities from conceptualization to commissioning. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to play a pivotal leadership role in overseeing large-scale, greenfield or brownfield steel plant projects.

This position requires extensive experience in heavy industrial projects, particularly in the steel sector, with a strong focus on project execution, technical excellence, safety, and cost control. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Engineering Strategy: Align overall engineering strategy with project goals, budget, and schedule.
  • Lead Conceptual Design and Detailed Engineering: Participate in conceptual design, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering phases.
  • Manage EPC Contractors and Vendors: Select and manage Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Ensure Integrated Plant Design: Integrate all engineering disciplines to achieve a cohesive and optimized plant design.
  • Maintain Compliance and Quality Control: Ensure all engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and calculations comply with relevant national and international codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Oversee Review and Approval Process: Oversee review and approval process for all engineering deliverables from contractors and vendors.
  • Implement Value Engineering Initiatives: Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize design, reduce costs, and improve plant performance without compromising safety or quality.
  • Manage Engineering Schedule and Budget: Manage the engineering schedule and budget, identifying potential deviations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Coordinate Project Execution: Coordinate with procurement, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Resolve Technical Issues: Oversee the resolution of technical issues and challenges during all project phases.
  • Lead Technical Discussions: Lead technical discussions and negotiations with suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure Document Control: Ensure effective document control and management of all engineering data.

Educational Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in engineering (Metallurgical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering preferred). A master's degree in engineering or business administration (MBA) is a plus.
