As a seasoned engineering professional, this role is responsible for providing proactive managed services to clients by identifying and resolving cloud-based incidents and problems.

The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for maintaining a high level of service to clients through pre-emptive incident and resolution activities, product reviews, operational improvements, quality assurance and more.

  • Ensures that assigned infrastructure at the client site is configured, installed, tested, and operational.
  • Performs necessary checks, applies monitoring tools and responds to alerts.
  • Identifies problems and errors prior to or when it occurs and logs all such incidents in a timely manner with the required level of detail.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in the field, with 3+ years of relevant experience in GCP. They should also have a good understanding of cloud architecture, deployment of cloud services using Terraform, defining and configuring alert thresholds, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cloud infrastructure configuration, installation, testing, and operation
  • Monitoring and responding to alerts
  • Error identification and logging
  • Analysis, assignment, and escalation of support calls
  • Root cause investigation and reporting
  • Onsite technical support and field engineering services
  • Maintenance of quality standards through regular reviews and recommendations

This role may also involve contributing to or supporting project work as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to develop relationships with customer external stakeholders at various levels.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in the field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in GCP
  • Good understanding of cloud architecture
  • Deployment of cloud services using Terraform
  • Defining and configuring alert thresholds
  • Monitoring incident triggers and responding to the relevant team based on RCA
  • Report generation and data submission based on requirements from various teams
  • Implementation of cloud security controls as directed by Info-Sec team
  • Follow-up for audit and compliance point closure post implementation
  • Cloud process automation and standardization
  • Golden AMI creation and patching of golden images
  • Updating AMI access across accounts for latest image deployment
  • Detailed understanding of cloud (IaaS and PaaS) industry and associated technologies
  • Deep understanding of service management best practices frameworks such as ITIL
  • Effective troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Basic understanding of network & security, data center architecture
  • Professional cloud certifications preferred
