Senior SCADA and MES Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SCADA and MES Engineer to lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Ignition SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations.

  • Design and deploy Ignition SCADA and MES applications to meet manufacturing operations' needs
  • Develop and implement real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting solutions using Ignition and other technologies
  • Ensure seamless integration of OT systems with enterprise IT systems, including PLCs, SCADA, MES, and ERP databases, as well as cloud-based solutions
  • Develop and maintain secure, efficient data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols
  • Manage industrial databases, including SQL historians and time-series databases, for high availability and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs
  • Provide technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives, such as Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, and predictive analytics
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and support existing SCADA and MES deployments to ensure minimal downtime
  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the engineering team

Requirements:

  • Over 10 years of experience in SCADA and MES engineering within the manufacturing industry
  • Proven expertise with Ignition SCADA, Inductive Automation, including scripting module configuration and project deployment
  • Strong background in MES functions, including production tracking, OEE, downtime analysis, traceability, and SPC
  • Proficiency with database technologies, including SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience with OT/IT integration technologies, including REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs, SCADA HMIs, and plant floor connectivity
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards, including ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms, including Azure IoT and AWS IoT
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments
  • Familiarity with containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes for SCADA and MES deployments
  • Experience in working on large-scale digital transformation and Industry 4.0 projects
  • Certifications, including Ignition Gold Certified Specialist and OPC UA, or relevant industrial IT/OT certifications
