Process Simulations and OTS Design Engineer Job DescriptionJob Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Simulations and OTS Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in process control with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in simulation projects.

The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and validating process simulations using various tools, building and tuning models, and integrating them into OTS software and other applications.

The successful candidate will also perform detailed heat and mass balance calculations, hydraulic analysis, and equipment sizing for unit operations such as distillation columns, heat exchangers, evaporators, separators, and pumps.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and validate process simulations using tools such as Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, Aspen EDR, Aspen Adsorption, and HTRI
  • Model building, tuning, and integration of the models in OTS software and other applications
  • Simulate all normal operations including hot or cold start-up and complete or partial shutdown operations.
  • Attaining Steady State and Dynamic Simulation for various processes
  • Perform detailed Heat and Mass Balance (HMB) calculations and hydraulic analysis across various process systems.
  • Execute equipment sizing for unit operations such as distillation columns, heat exchangers, evaporators, separators, and pumps
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Implementation experience in Simulation software like Petro-Sim, MIMIC, OmegaLand, UniSim Design, ASPEN HYSYS, DYNSIM, Aspen-Dynamics, Aveva, Promax or similar.
  • Design to Commissioning experience on Simulation projects- process modelling, DCS integration, OTS, Scenario training, model testing, FAT, MAT, PDET (Post data equalisation tests)
  • Evaluate engineering documents such as process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, Equipment Data Sheets, C&Es, unit process dynamics to develop simulations of complex processes
  • Strong Knowledge and Experience in automation systems in Chemical, Petro-chemical, Oil And Gas and Pharmaceutical domain
  • Generating documentation such as FDS, DDS, MAT and FAT procedures
  • Deep understanding of separation technologies including distillation, extraction, evaporation, chemical reactions, adsorption, pervaporation, etc
Preferred Skills:
  • Closed loop control (computer, DCS, PID control), MVC tuning concepts, APC and MES.
