Job Title: Property Accountant (Development Accountant)

Location: Ahmedabad, India

Shift Time: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST

Work Mode: Work From Office (5 Days/Week)

Our organization is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Development Accountant with experience in U.S. property management accounting. This role will focus on financial reporting, development accounting, and supporting key operations. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with draw accounting, payables, payrolls, and financial statement preparation.

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for development projects.
  • Maintain general ledgers and ensure accurate monthly and year-end closing.
  • Handle draw accounting, including preparation and tracking of draw requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting & Development Accounting
  2. Process and approve payables, wire requests, and ensure timely disbursements.
  3. Run aging reports, monitor outstanding payables, and follow up with vendors.
  4. Accounts Payable (AP)
  5. Process invoices, review supporting documentation, and ensure proper coding and approvals.
  6. Approve payables, set up wire requests, and ensure timely disbursements.
  7. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  8. Run aging reports and follow up with vendors for outstanding balances.
  9. Accounts Receivable (AR)
  10. Record rent and other receivables accurately and on time.
  11. Monitor tenant ledgers, reconcile payments, and follow up on overdue balances.
  12. Generate AR aging reports and work with property managers to reduce delinquencies.
  13. Operational Support
  14. Collaborate with U.S. cross-functional teams to address accounting queries.
  15. Provide insights and support for property-related decision-making.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience in U.S. property management (development focus preferred).
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Yardi.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Knowledge Areas: Development accounting, draw accounting, financial statements, wire transfers, payables, and payroll processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with U.S. stakeholders.
