Medical Oncologist Role

The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess patient needs and develop treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the team to assess patient needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Implement treatment plans and monitor patient progress, utilizing established protocols and safety precautions.
  • Provide mentorship to junior doctors and medical students, participate in auditing and research, and attend conferences and committee meetings.
Responsibilities:
  • Order diagnostic tests to confirm a diagnosis.
  • Deliver comprehensive information regarding cancer, prognosis, and available interventions or treatment options to patients.
  • Develop treatment plans with measurable goals that prioritize patient care while respecting individual preferences.
  • Enhance patient quality of life by effectively managing cancer-related pain and symptoms.
  • Regularly reassess treatment progress and pursue alternative therapies or palliative care when necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Doctor of medicine (MD) or MD/PhD, or equivalent, with specialized training in oncology or hematology/oncology.
  • Board certification relevant to the country of hire in hematology/oncology, with active licensure in good standing.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, caregivers, and other medical professionals.
  • Motivation to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in research and/or clinical protocols, preferably in oncology.
  • Ability to interpret clinical, genomic, and efficacy data to inform treatment decisions.
