Senior Software Engineering Professional

Role Summary:

The senior software engineer plays a pivotal role in the configuration or development team, driving innovation and collaboration to enhance knowledge and design better solutions. This position requires an individual with a passion for technology, seeking to continuously improve and deliver exceptional results.

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methodology aligned with the Home Team.
  • Develop and maintain software development processes, standards, and best practices to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality software products.
  • Promote engineering excellence and quality through appropriate use of analysis tools, control gates, and peer reviews.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, models, methods, etc., and drive adoption within the squad as required.
  • Drive optimisation of the engineering lifecycle through systematic knowledge management and continuous learning.
  • Mentor and guide all engineers within the Home Team and assist with technical challenges as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of a strong talent pipeline throughout the wider Home by assisting the Manager Engineer in hiring, internal movements, succession planning, talent reviews, etc.
  • Prepare, share, and document technical designs for application enhancements.
  • Promote secure coding practices.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Takes technical responsibility across all stages and iterations of software development.
  • Plans and drives software construction activities, adopting and adapting appropriate software development methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Measures and monitors applications of project/team standards for software construction, including software security.
  • Contributes to the development of organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for software development.

Technical Experience at Expert Level:

  • Full Stack development, including mobile development.
  • .Net, C#, ReactJS.
  • HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, jQuery UI SASS, Angular, TypeScript, WebForms, MVC.
  • ADO & GIT.
  • REST Services.
  • Database Design, Responsive web design, ORM frameworks.
  • Application architecture.
  • Containers & Micro Services.
  • Awareness of DevOps, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, build pipelines.
  • SQL.
  • Amazon Web Services.
