We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Projects to join our team in Nashik, India.

This is a challenging role that requires strong technical leadership skills, project engineering experience, and a thorough understanding of food safety and human safety policies.

The successful candidate will lead teams with diverse talents, skill levels, and backgrounds, collaborating with other functional areas and communicating with key customers and stakeholders.

Salary: ₹1,200,000 - ₹1,500,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role:

This is a critical position within our Manufacturing Facility in Nashik, responsible for delivering small to large-sized capital projects. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in capital project execution, including scope definition, cost estimation, and tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects to meet technical/quality performance, project charter, manufacturing requirements, capital budget, and start-up budget.
  • Provide capital project estimating for cost, scheduling, and technical performance as needed by the business units.
  • Execute basic and detailed design of projects based on GMI guidelines, local statutory requirements, user requirements specifications, ensuring safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability, and reliability.
  • Implement improvement projects such as capacity improvement, debottlenecking, and efficiency improvement.
  • Maintain set quality standards in equipment selection and execution, i.e., sanitary design, GMP, HACCP, and other quality requirements.
  • Ensure safety during construction and ongoing operation of the plant.
  • Manage required interactions outside General Mills Network, i.e., with external business partners, consultants, and contractors.
  • Support capital sourcing process, make indents for capital projects with all requirements, and seek approvals.
  • Ensure all records and documentation related to function are created in time and maintained properly.
  • Provide pertinent cash flow information to the Plant regarding ongoing and future projects.
  • To ensure implementation of all fixed assets and capital projects policies and procedures.
  • Should be able to work as a mentor for Manufacturing Platform teams to drive idea generation and execution excellence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering (mechanical/chemical).
  • 8+ years of experience in capital project execution.
  • Experience in plant operations and industrial environments, understanding equipment design and impacts to materials, labor, and work processes.
  • Thorough understanding of food safety, human safety, and environment policies, processes, and compliance.
  • Project engineering experience, including scope definition, cost estimation, and tracking, estimate-at-complete estimation, and scope management.
  • Demonstrated performance in executing concurrent assignments.
  • Strong technical leadership skills in a collaborative fashion.
  • Capable analytical problem solver using data and keen judgment.
  • Adaptability to maneuver through uncertainty with a high degree of professionalism and candor.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Understanding of food manufacturing regulatory requirements (GMP's, food safety, sanitation practices, and design criteria).
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement and vertical start-up tools and processes.
  • At least 2+ years of plant maintenance experience.

  • Internal: QA, manufacturing, supply chain – daily; HR – for ensuring necessary compliances; finance – for asset management, capitalization, approvals, etc.; central projects team – seek inputs on technology, design, and selection; R&D – technical assistance – as and when required.
  • External: MIDC, MSEB, W&M, DISH, MPCB, fire department – as and when required.
