Technical Lead - AI Engineering

We seek a seasoned expert to shape the architecture and lead delivery in a rapidly expanding field. This could be a senior engineer or an exceptional graduate/post-doctoral researcher from leading institutions who has already demonstrated technical leadership.

You will collaborate with specialists and regulatory experts, translating governance and compliance principles into robust, real-world technology.

This is a foundational leadership role combining stability and upside potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architecture & Build
    • Develop and lead the architecture of new systems (back-end, APIs, lightweight front-end).
    • Integrate open-source AI testing and assurance libraries into deployable frameworks.
    • Deliver lightweight, portable solutions in cloud environments.
  • AI Model Testing
    • Evaluate models against fairness, robustness, explainability, and governance principles.
    • Implement reproducible pipelines for evaluation, benchmarking, and reporting.
    • Create dashboards and artefacts suitable for supervisors, standards bodies, and clients.
  • Collaboration & Growth
    • Partner with global Responsible AI leaders who have shaped industry guidelines.
    • Translate complex governance and compliance requirements into practical, engineering-led solutions.
    • Contribute to pilots, client delivery, and the long-term technical roadmap.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven track record building, training, and evaluating AI/ML models (industry, research, or advanced academic projects).
  • Experience developing or integrating AI testing and assurance tools preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and modern ML/AI libraries.
  • Experience with cloud computing and knowledge of scaling, training, and deployment of AI models.
  • Awareness of Responsible AI frameworks and guidance.
  • Hands-on familiarity with explainability and fairness tools.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to operate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Intellectual curiosity, self-drive, and the ambition to grow into a senior technical leadership role.
