Senior Consultant/ Team Lead - SAP ABAP


Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in implementing, upgrading, and supporting SAP projects. They will work closely with the project manager to ensure timely delivery and coordination of development activities.

Responsibilities

  1. Understand the organization's values and vision and align activities accordingly
  2. Protect intellectual property and adhere to all policies and procedures
  3. Work with other line functions to collect or provide relevant data
  4. Ability to set up development guidelines and methodologies
  5. Support onsite consulting teams for all aspects of development work and coordination with remote development teams
  6. Participate in practice initiatives, sharing knowledge and enhancing reusability
  7. Prepare technical specifications, build code, review code, and prepare unit test cases
  8. Optimize custom-developed programs for minimizing resource utilization and run times
  9. Develop/update technical documentation with respect to functional requirements/specifications
  10. Test specific objects as and when initiatives such as migration to higher version hot packs, version upgrades, etc., are taken
  11. Provide bug fixes within agreed time frames and quality standards
  12. Assist with queries relating to reports, interfaces, enhancements, ALE/IDocs, conversions, forms, Adobe forms, ABAP workflow, Webdynpro, etc.
  13. Work with functional teams to assess operational & quality-related issues, identify gaps, and manage closure of gaps
  14. Provide proposals for ABAP redesign for performance improvement/tuning of ABAP objects as appropriate
  15. Ensure assessment of SAP OSS notes regarding relevance for ABAP operations

Essential Skills

  • 6+ years of experience in SAP ABAP
  • Must have work exposure on ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP)
  • Must have work exposure on RICEF and CDS Views
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Dynamic, flexible, and possess perseverance skills
  • Excellent coding skills
  • Proficiency in customer relationship management
  • Expertise on SAP Technologies like Webdynpro, Adobe forms
  • Proficient in ABAP ticket analysis
  • Capable of performing technical activities beyond coding
  • Capable of building trust and acting as a trusted adviser to the customer
  • Ability to manage customer expectations and avoid escalations
